Derby Friends of the Earth - Derby CHP Incinerator

Set up 15 years ago, to campaign and mobilise public opinion to lobby politicians and industry to take action to protect OUR environment, for future generations.
We arranged the 1st paper recycling skips in Derby at Sainsburys, + presented the Friends of the Earth Environmental Charter for Local Govt to 3 Local Authorities, contributing to development of greener policies. Founded the Rainbow Centre for Environment + Education in Abbey St and the Play + Recycling Centre, Werburgh St. Involved in preventing unsustainable development, eg SWERF incinerator, Bass Recreation Ground, Markeaton Park, Bus Station, inner ring road etc.
Inform public about environmental issues through talks, school visits, advising community groups on campaigning, days of action, etc.
